Tech to be used to help train overcrowding on Northern Rail... 

In an announcement that many will think is long overdue, Northern Rail have confirmed they are to use technology in their aim to cut overcrowding on their services. The beleaguered operator Arriva North have been stripped of the franchise and the line will be managed by a Government-owned company for the foreseeable future. 

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps take up the story: “To ensure we are deploying the trains in the right place to meet demand, we will be trialling new technology to identify crowding pinch points,”.
